That is a great use of podcasts, Susan. I really enjoyed listening to the conversation. I can understand how the convenience of this learning experience would benefit students. They could practice hearing the language anywhere. If only I could have a “do over” to learn Spanish again. It seems so much fun to learn a language today. Can’t wait to see your next post. Anne
Hello,
I definitely learned something from your blog. I did not know what a podcast was really until reading your blog. I had heard of it, but it was not clear to me. I think it is a great way to help students learn better, especially as you said, auditory learners. When learning a language, I agree that it would help with pronunciation. I also think that hearing someone speak the language would help learn it better as well. Isn’t that why people buy the Rosetta Stone program to learn languages?
I found a video that talked about how to integrate podcasts into the classroom. It also talks about today’s students and how important it is to “speak their language”, which is technology. http://youtu.be/ExkMeQfuLGc
I can imagine that podcasts would be great for modifications for many different subjects, but especially for languages. Good luck in your future blogs. Denise
